Lost Art

My favorite piece of art has been lost! Momma said there'd be days like this... Yesterday started off okay (I woke up). I took my daughter to Battery Park for a nature outing and a little fishing. Even though she had a little drama, we enjoyed being there. As we were leaving, I accidentally spilled the cooler in the trunk of my car. The water almost landed on top of one of my prized portraits - I know you may ask, "Why was it in the trunk?" A long story... Anyway, I got the portrait out, set it aside and proceeded to soak up the water and empty the ice out of the trunk. With that task completed, I got into my car and drove off, leaving my portrait, a study of a young woman, behind. Please, if any of you happen to hear anything about someone finding it, please let me know. The drawing's description is as follows:

  • Subject - Face of a young African American Girl
  • Medium - Pencil on paper
  • Title - Carol
  • Artist's Signature - Michael J. Riley
  • Created - 1984
  • Frame - Black wooden engraved frame w/ marble matting
  • dimensions - Approximately 16" x 20"
